Mobile Banking

Banking is one of the most essential functions for most of us. We are also increasingly on the move.
Clearly the bank that we can contact on the mobile web is more likely to get our business.
In the UK, Barclays is helping customers stay in touch with their money with the launch of a mobile banking service. For now, they can check their account balance and statements but more services are being lined up for the future.
In the USA, the Bank of America is offering Mobile Banking Services. This already includes checking account balances and viewing transactions, paying bills and transferring funds between accounts and locating a nearby ATM or Banking Center along with maps and directions.
Not surprisingly we’re also seeing events like the next MobileMonday Austin, TX event on June 11, which will cover mobile banking and payments. That will cover not only the opportunities and how to benefit from them, but also the threats such as the increased security risks and how to counter them. Nevertheless mobile banking represents an enormous economic potential.
